TRAINING

Michael LeavittAdam LeavittAll people who wish to explore Spanish Moss Cave need training. This cave requires knowledge of ascending and descending ropes, crawling, and the confidence to spend at least 3 hours underground. Just hiking to the locked cave gate requires good health with about an hour of moderate to very rugged uphill climbing. Don’t take shortcuts on your preparation for the incredible exploration experience. Join the NSS, join the grotto, and if you are leading a BSA or youth group, then get all of the training you can.
